PARTNERSHIP:

Fight Colorectal Cancer Joins Forces with Medocity to Bridge Cancer Care Gap between Clinic and Patient’s Home

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) has partnered with Medocity, Inc, a leading virtual patient care solutions company, to support patients and survivors in a new innovative way. Starting next month, Fight Colorectal Cancer will provide patients free access to Medocity’s online platform, iCancerHealth™, designed to help manage cancer care outside of the clinic. As part of the partnership, Fight CRC will contribute patient friendly blogs, informational content and educational videos. The collaboration will broaden access to educational resources by colorectal cancer patients across the country.  The platform will be available under the resources section of the FightCRC.org website.

Colorectal cancer impacts 1 in 20 individuals and is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths among men and women in the U.S. As part of the organization’s mission, Fight CRC provides patients with reliable, credible and trustworthy resources to aid in the fight against colorectal cancer. Covering topics relevant to fighting disease, the organization uses blogs, webinars, podcasts, newsletters, one-pagers and more to reach patients. The launch of the new online platform will add a suite of resources and portable tools for patients and caregivers undergoing active treatment.

iCancerHealth is an intuitive, comprehensive platform that bridges the gap between the clinic and the home to help patients:

  • manage and track medications, symptoms and treatment plans;
  • receive helpful guidance with timely disease and drug specific information; and
  • share and connect with their care team, family and friends.

With iCancerHealth, patients can record their daily health status, side effects and symptoms and share detailed information with their physicians and care team in order to help them make more informed clinical decisions. With the addition of content from Fight CRC, iCancerHealth will now provide reliable and practical content for colorectal cancer patients and their caregivers.

“We’re committed to making medical information accessible and easy for families facing a colorectal cancer diagnosis,” said Anjee Davis, president of Fight CRC. “This collaboration allows us to provide families a way to have access to their medical information with a simple touch – via a mobile phone, tablet or computer. This is a major step forward. This new tool will help support and guide patients through this disease, from the first day of diagnosis through survivorship.”

“Medocity is excited to partner with Fight CRC to empower cancer patients, survivors and their families in managing their care while at home,” said Raj Agarwal, CEO and President of Medocity. “This partnership supports our mission to care coordination and management through innovative technology by engaging and educating patients during their cancer journey, and helping them avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room.”

About Fight Colorectal Cancer

Fight Colorectal Cancer is a community of activists who find it unacceptable that colorectal cancer – a preventable disease – is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. In 2005, we were founded by survivors and family members who believed in making a difference. Since then we have grown to be a leading, national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. known for our advocacy. Our team plays an important role in making medical information practical for survivors and their families and provides trusted resources that guide patients from diagnosis through survivorship. We unite the colorectal cancer community by empowering anyone impacted by this disease to share their story, advocate for better policies and get involved in the research process. We are one million strong and we won’t stop fighting until there’s a cure. Join us at FightCRC.org.
